Information for Contracting States regarding Certification of Aeronautical Agreements and Arrangements pursuant to Article 8 of the Rules for Registration with ICAO of Aeronautical Agreements and Arrangements (Doc 6685-C/767)

Pursuant to Article 8 of the Rules for Registration with ICAO of Aeronautical Agreements and Arrangements (Doc 6685-C/767), aeronautical agreements and arrangements submitted for registration with ICAO shall be duly certified by the appropriate authority of the registering party. Such certified copy shall reproduce the original text in the language or languages in which the said agreement or arrangement was concluded and shall be accompanied by one additional copy.

The Rules require a certification by the appropriate authority of the registering party that one of the two copies to be provided to ICAO is a true and complete copy of the original text of the agreement or arrangement.

There are several ways to certify. In any case, the certification statement shall attest that the copy is a true and complete copy of the original, and shall be signed and display an official stamp or seal. The certification statement shall be permanently affixed to the entirety of the agreement or arrangement, either by placing it on the first page of the document itself or on each page of the document, or by attaching it to the entirety of it.
